How We Handle Data-Bearing Equipment
Our approach depends on whether the equipment can be reused, resold, or needs to be routed for downstream processing.
Data Sanitization
Reusable storage devices are sanitized using processes that reference NIST SP 800-88 guidelines where applicable.
Reuse & Resale
Equipment suitable for reuse can be prepared for resale after the appropriate data-handling process is completed.
Downstream Processing
Equipment that cannot be responsibly reused may be routed to qualified downstream recycling or processing partners.
What You Should Do Before Selling
Before transferring equipment, we recommend backing up any information you need to retain and removing personal or company accounts where applicable.

Back up any data you need to keep
Sign out of Apple, Google, Microsoft, or other accounts
Disable activation locks or device-management restrictions
Sanitize data-bearing devices whenever possible
Pre-sanitized equipment is preferred. If your devices still contain sensitive data, please let us know before shipping or pickup.
